Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of PhD in a health or science-related field
Experience: Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of research experience and community engagement
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative group and the ability to lead a project and coordinate research teams
- The candidates should possess supervisory skills, including effective team-building and the ability to establish positive working relationships and foster collaboration to achieve common goals

Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold an advanced degree MD, or equivalent in a health or science-related field
- The candidates should possess TCPS CORE 2 certification and GCP certification (required within four weeks of hiring)
- The candidates should have strong computer skills, particularly with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing
- The candidates should show awareness and sensitivity to diverse communities and priority or equity-deserving populations
- The candidates should have at least three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated expertise in supporting and coordinating the design, implementation, and evaluation of research projects and community engagement initiatives
- The candidates should have at least two (2) years of experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research
- The candidates should be able to coordinate communication between team members and internal or external partners
- The candidates should exhibit superior communication and organizational skills, experience in training and monitoring performance and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate strong organizational, decision-making, and management skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to support the portfolio of Dr. Ghazal Fazli at the University of Toronto Mississauga on various applied research projects and community engagement initiatives related to type 2 diabetes care and prevention
- The candidates should be able to engage in research activities, including observational studies, community-based participatory research, and implementation science with a focus on social justice and health equity
- The candidates should be able to target the social and environmental determinants of health through their research efforts
- The candidates should be able to build relationships and partnerships with an interdisciplinary team of collaborators, including researchers, healthcare providers, community agencies, and community members with lived experience
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively within a team that includes individuals with lived experience
- The candidates should be able to balance remote work with occasional in-office requirements to support project activities and collaboration
