Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Grade 12 education
Experience: Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year of security experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work 12-hour shifts on a 24-hour rotating basis and on weekends
- The candidates should be motivated team players with a positive, service-oriented approach
- The candidates should have the ability to respond to emergencies as they arise while remaining calm and in control of the situation
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completion of a 2-year recognized Community College Law Enforcement Program
- The candidates should be able to provide documentation of a clean Criminal Record and must be licensed under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005
- The candidates should have with previous security experience in a health care setting and strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated sensitivity toward clients experiencing mental health challenges
- The candidates should have a fundamental understanding of computers and software applications
- The candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision, problem-solve, and exercise good judgment in varied situations
- The candidates should have knowledge of fire and emergency response procedures, W.H.M.I.S and bilingualism (French or English) and proficiency in a second language
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the unit manager and provide surveillance and assistance for patients, visitors, and staff
- The candidates should be able to monitor and control the movement of patients, staff, and visitors through the perimeter of the unit
- The candidates should be able to provide both interior and perimeter security measures for the inpatient unit by means of surveillance and documentation and manage personal alarm and key control systems
- The candidates should be able to occasionally perform security checks of the unit perimeter and safety or security equipment on the unit and work rotating day, evening, and night shifts as
- The candidates should be able to support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and effective communication, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
