Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have Master’s Degree in a discipline that involves complex data analysis, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum five years relevant experience mining and curating complex datasets
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate project management skills in a multi-stakeholder environment, with the ability to motivate teams and work collaboratively with others

Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience with University of Toronto’s Tableau Research and Innovation Dashboards, Research Information System Minuet database, or an equivalent organizational database/business intelligence tool and data access management
- The candidates should have strong numeric, research, and analytical skills, with an ability to mine complex data sets, identify trends, develop new metrics, and make recommendations based on data-driven insights that will inform management decision-making
- The candidates should have an understanding of geopolitical challenges and their implications for research security
- The candidates should have strong interaction skills, including oral and written communication skills to explain complex statistical analyses to decision-makers, probe for information to establish needs, respond to requests, and communicate data query requirements to others (IT, business units)
- The candidates should show competence with advanced functionality in spreadsheet software like Excel and demonstrate command of word processing software and presentation software like PowerPoint
- The candidates should have a solid understanding of relational databases and a strong understanding of the principles of effective data visualization and consolidate information from multiple sources and understand the underlying nuances
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to engage in the development and maintenance of business intelligence tools designed to facilitate research security-related assessments and reporting at the University of Toronto
- The candidates should be able to report to the Director, Research Analytics and working closely with the Office of Research Security, the Director and the Research Security Advisors
- The candidates should be able to consult institutional research leaders and functional users regarding priorities, deliverables, and data governance
- The candidates should be able to use their knowledge about research and innovation indicators to develop project design, create and execute plans for data access management
- The candidates should be able to conduct complex data analyses that inform critical institutional initiatives, including research security-related reports that convey information to a broad range of audiences, including senior institutional research leaders and external audiences
- The candidates should be able to develop overall project design, assess and determine methodologies for data retrieval and manipulation
- The candidates should be able to research, analyse, and recommend solutions to project challenges and conduct detailed data analysis to inform management decision-making
- The candidates should be able to provide detailed information on data analysis findings to stakeholders and deliver presentations to promote programs, opportunities, and/or initiatives and Identify and resolve systemic data integrity issues
