Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a relevant technical certification, and relevant experience commensurate to the role and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- The candidates should have strong knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles and solid understanding of AWS services, including core services like S3, EC2, IAM, and services related to governance like CloudTrail, Config, and IAM Identity Center
- The candidates should have security expertise with familiarity in security best practices for the cloud, including encryption, access controls, and incident response procedures
- The candidates should have automation skills with the ability to use scripting languages or tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to automate governance tasks and configurations
- The candidates should have an understanding of cloud governance principles, including knowledge of the shared responsibility model, cost optimization strategies, and resource tagging for accountability
- The candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, collaborate with stakeholders to define governance requirements, and document processes
- The candidates should have problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and address potential security risks, troubleshoot governance issues, and analyze logs for anomalies and project management experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring governance initiatives
- The candidates should have AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty or AWS Solution Architect – Professional, which is a plus but not mandatory
- The candidates should have prior experience working in a cloud environment, particularly with platforms like AWS and experience with compliance frameworks, including an understanding of relevant compliance frameworks like HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, PIPEDA, and SOC 2
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made, and seeking any required work permits or visas or other authorizations should be the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and maintain AWS governance policies and procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- The candidates should be able to implement best practices for cloud security, cost management, and resource optimization and monitor AWS accounts for compliance with governance policies
- The candidates should be able to conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks and ensure that AWS environments comply with internal policies and external regulations
- The candidates should be able to oversee the allocation and usage of AWS resources and implement tagging and resource management strategies to optimize costs
- The candidates should be able to monitor and manage AWS cost and usage reports, providing recommendations for cost savings and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies
- The candidates should be able to ensure proper configuration of security groups, network ACLs, and other security settings and enforce security best practices to protect cloud infrastructure
- The candidates should be able to automate governance processes using AWS tools and services and optimize cloud resource usage through continuous monitoring and improvement
- The candidates should be able to implement automation for compliance checks and remediation actions and provide training and support to teams on AWS governance policies and best practices
- The candidates should be able to assist in the onboarding of new cloud users and teams and serve as a subject matter expert for AWS governance and maintain detailed documentation of governance policies, procedures, and changes
- The candidates should be able to generate and present reports on compliance, security, and resource usage and communicate governance policies effectively
