Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree
Experience: Candidates should have three years of post-graduate work experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of working effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in assessment, rehabilitation, and managing concurrent disorders

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • The candidates should be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with faculties of Social Work affiliated with CAMH
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of relevant community resources and experience working with families or significant others
  • The candidates should have inpatient experience in a mental health setting and exhibit excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have fundamental knowledge of Best Practices for clients living with severe and persistent mental illness
  • The candidates should have experience working with clients, staff, and organizations from diverse ethno-racial backgrounds
  • The candidates should possess essential computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication, and workload measurement tools
  • The candidates should consider bilingualism (French and English) or proficiency in a second language

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver responsive and dignified care, addressing the therapeutic needs of clients
  • The candidates should be able to conduct psychosocial assessments and facilitate referrals for financial and supportive resources
  • The candidates should be able to provide supportive counseling to clients, their families, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds
  • The candidates should be able to address clients’ psychosocial needs, particularly those related to housing, income, and discharge planning
  • The candidates should be able to apply recovery principles and possess knowledge of schizophrenia and concurrent disorders in their practice
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement treatment plans, complete standardized assessments, and participate in interprofessional team discussions
  • The candidates should be able to monitor clients’ responses to therapeutic interventions and coordinate with their social and community networks and network effectively with referral sources and ensure seamless client transitions within program services
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with community providers and educate clients, families, and mental health providers and contribute to program development, research, and educational activities within the program
  • The candidates should be able to supervise Master of Social Work students and collaborate on special projects with faculties of social work and support best practices, provide services reflective of client needs, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • The candidates should be able to handle workload data entry and uphold a healthy, diverse, and team-oriented workplace and work at 1025 Queen Street West and accommodate some evening hours
