Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed a post-secondary college diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should apply the principles and practices of quality assurance and apply analytical skills effectively in their work
- The candidates should demonstrate appropriate and effective interpersonal communications through various media and be capable of creating and delivering presentations in various formats
- The candidates should have the ability to handle changing priorities in a positive manner, ensuring that all operating and administrative problems are resolved with minimal interruption to the work of the section
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field and a university degree in a related discipline, or possess a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
- The candidates should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 (Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint), with knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and ArcGIS
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to initiate, plan, and coordinate service changes for day-to-day transit services and transit expansion projects using the TTC’s Service Standards
- The candidates should be able to liaise and coordinate delivery with the Scheduling team and initiate proposals for new transit services and special services to improve service for customers and optimize the transit network
- The candidates should be able to represent the Service Planning Department in working with Operations staff and other TTC departments, undertaking analyses of their proposals, and bringing forward appropriate proposals for implementation
- The candidates should be able to analyze ridership count data and other information to determine priorities and recommendations for service improvements or reductions on existing routes
- The candidates should be able to project resource requirements associated with each package of service changes and track actual resource consumption relative to budget
- The candidates should be able to review and check for accuracy of transit information and signage prepared for customer information and internal purposes
- The candidates should be able to prepare briefings and reports on a wide range of service planning matters
- The candidates should be able to represent the TTC at public meetings to discuss existing transit service conditions and transit service proposals
- The candidates should be able to liaise with internal TTC staff, external organizations, impacted communities, government bodies, and other agencies and organizations on service changes, special projects, study results, proposals, and procedures and perform related duties
