Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary degree with an emphasis on business or marketing
Experience: Candidates should have five to ten years of progressive experience in the digital advertising industry

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure, juggle multiple deadlines, and think and act strategically to ensure the right activities are conducted in support of business objectives
  • The candidates should be able to review and assimilate various forms of research and market conditions into coherent sales strategies
  • The candidates should have the ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and effectively solve problems

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience on the broadcast side and an extensive understanding of all aspects of media sales, sales administration, and marketing functions
  • The candidates should possess excellent negotiation skills with a solid track record of success and extensive computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and Google products
  • The candidates should have strong business management and strategic marketing skills to guide business development analysis, and the ability to manage business planning and revenue forecasting
  • The candidates should have demonstrated superior communication (verbal and written) skills, including compelling presentation abilities
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to lead and manage a team of people and create a culture of learning that drives individual development. Experience in a unionized environment and exhibit accuracy and attention to detail, which is essential given the level of data to be reviewed
  • The candidates should be able to balance the needs of the organization with the requests from the client using listening skills, tact, and diplomacy and be bilingual (English and French)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to supervise and direct the day-to-day operations of the sales team, providing leadership, motivation, problem-solving, coaching, and training to staff
  • The candidates should be able to ensure revenue opportunities are identified, targeted, and maximized to their true potential
  • The candidates should be able to direct account management activities to ensure consistency in application and practice
  • The candidates should be able to promote and present CBC/Radio-Canada, develop and maintain relationships in the industry, and stay informed of industry trends and developments
  • The candidates should be able to develop long-term strategies for the marketplace and present proposals at meetings with senior clients
  • The candidates should be able to analyze operational requirements, manage the departmental budget, and prepare reports on revenue and market activity for the Leadership Team
  • The candidates should be able to manage strategic account planning, bi-weekly revenue forecasts, and management reports
  • The candidates should be able to provide input for territory and business plans, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting responsibilities
