Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S./CPR) certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring prevention and management of disturbed behavior
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to maintain registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- The candidates should ideally possess, or be actively pursuing, a B.Sc.N and CNA certification in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing
- The candidates should exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish Nurse-Client therapeutic relationships and collaborate with diverse inter-professional teams
- The candidates should demonstrate effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- The candidates should ideally have experience in psychiatric nursing, particularly with individuals facing mental illness and addictions
- The candidates should demonstrate cultural competency and the ability to work with clients from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
- The candidates should possess computer literacy and preferably have bilingual proficiency (French and English) or proficiency in a second language
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide ongoing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate inter-professional client care plans using a primary nursing model for clients with Schizophrenia
- The candidates should be able to liaise with other Clinical Care Program services and community agencies to coordinate client care effectively
- The candidates should be able to work with clients from diverse populations and contribute to program development initiatives
- The candidates should be able to provide education, support, and supervision to students while participating in program research activities
- The candidates should be able to make behavioral observations and assessments, including conducting mental status and physical assessments
- The candidates should be able to monitor patient responses to pharmaceutical and other care interventions and document these findings consistently
- The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with other team members to ensure seamless patient care and demonstrate sound knowledge of crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, severe and persistent mental illness, and Schizophrenia
- The candidates should be able to develop interdisciplinary, client-centered care plans and evaluate their outcomes effectively
- The candidates should be able to foster and support a healthy, diverse, and team-oriented workplace while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
