Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience in a related field (i.e., public health, health promotion, health sciences or sociology)
Experience: Candidates should have minimum one (1) year of relevant research assistant experience, or graduate level training, in an academic research environment or other related institution

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in an office setting, involving extended periods of sitting and computer use
  • The candidates should be prepared for occasional attendance at marketing events, workshops, or meetings

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience coordinating research project tasks in collaboration with stakeholders
  • The candidates should possess experience conducting literature reviews and other relevant written material (i.e., research summaries, meeting minutes, etc.)
  • The candidates should have experience drafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB)
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, NVivo, and reference management software (e.g., Zotero)
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, showing sensitivity to organizational priorities
  • The candidates should display the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and make day-to-day decisions
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work well as a team member and independently
  • The candidates should showcase the ability to work in a high-pressure environment and prioritize tasks
  • The candidates should have an understanding of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • The candidates should be bilingual in French

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to implement and execute qualitative and/or quantitative research methods and analyze data
  • The candidates should be able to conduct literature reviews, write research summaries, and draft documents for knowledge translation purposes
  • The candidates should be able to draft and submit documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approval
  • The candidates should be able to disseminate and collect research surveys and questionnaires, schedule study participants, and probe participants to determine if they meet study criteria
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action, and follow-up items
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to foster positive relationships with project partners
  • The candidates should be able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information
